ArtJob Online offers nationwide job opportunities in the arts. While
ArtJob occasionally posts international job listings, it focuses
mainly on arts opportunities within the United States. Generally,
the largest percentages of job listings tend to be on the East &
West Coasts, followed by larger, metropolitan cities throughout
the United States.
How can I subscribe without a credit card?
If you would like to subscribe to ArtJob Online and do not have
a credit card, simply print out the registration page, include your
desired password (any combination of letters and numbers up to
eight characters) and send it with a check or money order to the address
listed at the bottom of the page. After processing your subscription,
a confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address that you have provided.
How do I access the job listings as a subscriber?
ArtJob is updated daily. After subscribing, you can log on to the
site at any time by clicking on the "view jobs" link and then
entering your login name and password. Once you have gained
access to the site, you may search job listings, add your resume
and search the arts employer database.
Do you send any e-mail updates?
Yes! If you are an ArtJob subscriber, you can sign up for ArtJob's daily job update e-mail service. You will receive a customized e-mail every weekday alerting you to new jobs on the site that fit your selected criteria. ArtJob also offers "Directions," an e-mail newsletter containing announcements and articles to help you succeed in your job hunt, along with occasional information about new features to the Web site. To subscribe to "Directions" send an e-mail to: directions@westaf.org with "subscribe" written in the subject line (without the quotation marks). Please do not include any text in the body of the message.
What do I do if I forget my password?
If you are an ArtJob subscriber and have forgotten your password click here to use our automated password retrieval system. You can also send us an e-mail at artjob@westaf.org. Include your login name and zip code for authentication. Your password will be sent to you within 48 hours.

Artists-in-Residence Program: The foundation is recognized as a not-for-profit organization sponsoring international, multidisciplinary programs as an avenue for cultural exchange, in particular between France and the United States. The Artists-in-Residence Program, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and performances, serve to promote creative exploration and exchange among persons of diverse disciplines and backgrounds..
The Artists-in-Residence Program offers artists a unique atmosphere in which to live and work. The location - in a region rich in culture, history and artistic traditions - is ideal. At the heart of the program is the concept of providing the individual artist with time and space for the creative process.
We seek applications at two levels, from:
lesser known artists with a record of solid achievement, for whom an appointment as a resident artist might contribute to professional advancement ;

Director of Development & Public Affairs: The Museum is emerging from a 3-year-million-dollar expansion and renovation. The incumbent will oversee the creation of a multi-faceted development program directed toward the funding of new exhibits and programs, expanding the collections as well as initiate a campaign to reacquaint the public with the museum and promote exhibits. Graphic Designer: Graphic design studio focused on the fashion industry is looking for junior graphic designer free-lancer to work on specific days of the week. The candidate should be a hard worker and enthusiastic, have some work experience, (production experience a plus), have a graphic design degree, be proficient in QuarkXpress, Photoshop and Illustrator - knowledge of Flash and HTML a plus.
Museum Director: We seek an enthusiastic, results-oriented individual to provide dynamic leadership from planning through its February 2004 opening and beyond. Working with the Board, the Director will chart a course for this evolving art and history museum. The ideal candidate will bring to the position a vast breadth of experience and demonstrated success in the museum field, as well as creative thinking around a set of diverse issues, including, but not limited to fundraising (individual, foundation, corporate, government), marketing, financial management, board relations/development, cultural participation, advocacy, path-finding curatorial practice, community relations, and all other aspects of museum administration.
The Director will be a strategic thinker who can compellingly articulate the museum's mission while shaping a compelling, engaging vision that is centered around the museum's public dimension, and promoting institutional values. S/he will possess superlative interpersonal and communication skills that will be put in the service of building the museum's presence on local, regional, national, and international stages, among other responsibilities.
Production /Technical Assistant: We seek a Production/Technical Assistant to work with Production Manager in all phases of the production of performing arts events, including contemporary dance, music and theatre as well as the coordination of corporate events.
Successful candidates will be self-starters with the ability to manage union and non-union stage crews and have a working knowledge of theatrical lighting, audio and video systems. Evenings and weekends a must. Salary mid $20s plus full benefit package.
Publicist: Some familiarity with classical music (preferably string quartet music); strong command of the English language; computer skills; reliable internet connection. Public relations coordinator for a Colorado-based national touring ensemble (a professional string quartet). Part-time; flexible hours; salaried. Duties: writing concert promotion information (incl. press releases) and some program materials, providing these data to the media and concert presenters, arranging publicity appearances, overseeing graphic work and ads, keeping in contact with concert presenters, and similar activities.
String Teacher: We are seeking a string teacher to provide private violin and viola lessons, conduct or assist with advanced string ensemble and orchestra, and coach chamber music. The Music Conservatory consists of two semesters from September through April. Classes meet on Saturday afternoons and private lessons are scheduled throughout the week. This is a part-time job with a minimum of 20 hours per week. It is highly likely that additional employment could include opportunities that will meet unfilled requirements of the community (for example, the establishment of a developmental program to feed into the Conservatory; a private studio for beginning to advanced youth and adult students; possible part time employment though the local school district; and occasional performance opportunities with local theater groups and a thriving community chorus which programs masterworks with orchestra each year).
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Music or Music Education required, Master's preferred; proficiency in upper string instruments.
Studio/Retreat and Teaching Residency: The Arts Center is looking for artists interested in residencies ranging from two weeks to three months. The Center offers studio space, living quarters, and a stipend of $375/week plus mileage (up to $1500/ mo total). In exchange, the artist will teach students in grades 4-6 in an Arts After School program at the Center. This meets Monday - Friday from 3:45 - 5:00. The artist will have the rest of the day and the weekends to use as studio time or as desired. If interested, the artist may also work in the schools teaching from 12:45-1:45 and 2:00-3:00. The stipend for work in the schools and after school at the Center is $600/wk.
Web/Multimedia Designer: The art department is seeking a talented and dynamic designer to work on web development, CD-ROM & DVD based projects. The full-time position demands strength in user-interface design with an emphasis on creativity, communication, navigation, and the end-user experience. Solid concept design, and execution skills are paramount. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team environment.
The job requires second nature skills on the MAC, and candidates must be fluent in primary design software such as PhotoShop and Illustrator/Freehand. While web design experience is not mandatory, multimedia skills are beneficial to the position. Aristotle is looking for a portfolio that speaks for itself.
